Advocacy is not optional. It is essential.
Birth is one of the most sacred experiences a person can have.
But for many, especially Black women, it is also one of the most vulnerable.
In the United States, Black women are significantly more likely to experience complications during pregnancy and childbirth. Not because of a lack of strength, education, or preparation, but because of systemic inequities in care, implicit bias, and the lasting impact of racism within the healthcare system.
You deserve to be heard, believed, and protected in every space you enter.
And that includes your birth experience.
Advocacy in birth is not about speaking for you.
It is about making sure your voice is heard.
It is about ensuring your questions are answered.
Your concerns are taken seriously.
And your choices are respected.
Too often, birthing people are dismissed, rushed, or left feeling uncertain in moments where clarity and support are critical.
You deserve better.
You deserve to feel informed, confident, and supported in every decision you make.
My Commitment
As a Black doula, this work is deeply personal to me.
I am committed to creating a space where you feel:
Seen
Heard
Respected
Supported
Believed
Protected
I show up to support you, to provide information, to help you understand your options, and to stand with you as you navigate your birth experience.
Not to replace your voice, but to help ensure it is honored.
This Work Is For You
While my advocacy is rooted in addressing disparities that impact Black women, my care extends to every family I serve.
Because safety, respect, and support should never be limited.
They should be the standard.
Advocacy can look like:
Helping you understand your options before making decisions
Supporting you in asking questions and expressing concerns
Creating space for you to pause, process, and choose what feels right
Providing continuous emotional and physical support during labor
Encouraging informed decision making without pressure or judgment
You are always at the center of your experience.
This work is about more than birth.
It is about changing the way families experience care.
It is about restoring trust.
It is about making sure you are never left to navigate these moments alone.
Because you deserve to be safe.
You deserve to be heard.
You deserve to be supported.
Let’s Connect
You don’t have to navigate this alone.
If you are looking for support, advocacy, and a space where you feel truly seen, I would be honored to walk alongside you.
